The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Holds a Workshop on the Risks of Climate Change

The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, organized a workshop entitled: “Raising Awareness on the Risks of Climate Change” on Monday, 23 June 2025.

The workshop addressed various topics, including climate change and its threat to human security, its causes—whether due to human activity or natural changes—and the environmental empowerment of women in the face of climate change.

The workshop featured three research papers presented in turn by the Committee Chair, Lecturer Dr. Maha Ahmed Ibrahim, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Adel Mar’i, and Assistant Lecturer Sarah Jasem Mohammed, with Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir serving as the rapporteur.

Held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, the workshop is part of the efforts to implement the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security—Pillar of Protection and Prevention. It was attended by a number of the college’s female faculty members and staff.
