The College of Political Science Attends a Workshop Organized by the Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Mosul on the “Times” Sustainable Development Ranking
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and with the supervision and presence of the Scientific Assistant, Prof. Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jassim, the Department of Studies and Planning organized a specialized workshop titled: “Times Impact Rankings for Sustainable Development: Concepts and Challenges”, on Sunday, 22 June 2025.
The workshop was attended by assistant deans of the colleges, and heads of the departments of Studies and Planning, Media, and Government Communication. Representing the College of Political Science were the Scientific Assistant, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, along with the heads of the Media and Government Communication Division and the Studies and Planning Division.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the mechanisms and criteria of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, which assess universities’ commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also addressed the QS Sustainability Rankings and highlighted key differences between the two systems.
The event witnessed fruitful engagement in discussing the challenges faced by sustainable development units within the colleges and ways to address them in line with the university’s aspirations to advance in global rankings.
This activity is part of a series of academic events supporting the university’s efforts to achieve institutional excellence and enhance its global academic standing.
