The Iraqi Future Journal, issued by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Karbala, has published the scientific research of Dr. Younis Muaid Younis, Assistant Professor at the Department of International Relations, College of Political Science – University of Mosul. The research is entitled:
“Strategic Threats Affecting the Course of Iraqi-Syrian Relations After 2024,” and was published in June 2025.

The study aimed to analyze the nature of strategic threats that may impact the future of Iraqi-Syrian relations after 2024. It focused on monitoring regional and international developments, identifying the factors influencing political decision-making in both countries, and providing a forward-looking vision for the options available to decision-makers to avoid escalation and strengthen mutual cooperation amid changing security, economic, and political challenges.
