The Scientific Associate Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul serves as a member of the master’s thesis defense committee at the University of Tikrit on the reality of social public policy in Iraq
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 1: No Poverty, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions—a master’s thesis by student Basim Abdullah Mohammed Khalil, entitled “The Reality of Social Public Policy in Iraq and Its Impact on State-Building 2014–2024,” was defended at the College of Political Science, University of Tikrit, on Thursday, 4 September 2025.
The defense committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Shatab Idan, with the membership of several faculty members, including the Scientific Associate Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri.
The thesis aimed to study social public policies in Iraq after 2014, analyzing their role in supporting the process of state-building during the period up to 2024. It evaluated various legislations, institutions, and social programs, measuring their effectiveness in promoting political and social stability, as well as diagnosing the challenges that hindered the achievement of sustainable development in the country.
Following the defense, the committee announced its decision to approve the thesis and award the student the degree of Master.
