College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Holds a Symposium on the College and Charity Work in Conjunction with the International Day of Charity

In implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Goal 1: No Poverty, Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – the Committee for Observing National and International Days launched its first activity for the academic year 2025–2026 by organizing the symposium entitled “The College of Political Science and Charity Work” on Sunday, 7 September 2025.

The symposium aimed to highlight the role of the College in volunteer work by raising political and social awareness of the importance of voluntary and humanitarian efforts, examining public policies that ensure poverty alleviation and address the impacts of climate change, as well as reinforcing the values of citizenship and solidarity within society. This comes in support of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting the spirit of cooperation among the people of the nation.

The symposium included a single lecture delivered by the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen, with the session moderated by Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Hazem Hamed, and attended by the Committee Chair, Professor Dr. Jamal Kamal Ismail, along with a number of faculty members and staff.

The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, and in conjunction with the International Day of Charity, observed on 5 September yearly.
