The Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Participates as a Member of the Master’s Thesis Defense Committee at the College of Law on National Security Requirements in Light of International Human Rights Law

In implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals—a master’s thesis entitled “National Security Requirements in Light of International Human Rights Law” was defended at the College of Law, University of Mosul, by the student Hisham Kazem Khudair on Tuesday, 9 September 2025.

The defense committee was composed of Professor Dr. Mohammed Yousif Muhaymid (Chair), Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jasim, Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul (Member), Lecturer Dr. Saad Salem Sultan (Member), and Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Ramadan Al-Khattabi (Member and Supervisor).

The thesis addressed the requirements of national security in states, along with the safeguarding and protection of human rights as enshrined in international and national conventions.

It aimed to study ways of achieving a balance between the requirements of national security and the protection and safeguarding of human rights during exceptional circumstances.

After the defense, the committee announced its decision to accept the thesis and award the student the degree of Master’s.
