The Council of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds Its Second Open Session for the Academic Year 2025–2026

  • Updating the college’s website in accordance with the directives of the University Presidency.

  • Reviewing the Erasmus Program proposals in cooperation with European universities.

  • Maintaining the college’s infrastructure related to student services.

  • Discussing the distribution of supervision duties for postgraduate (Master’s) students.

  • Evaluating the performance of the teaching and administrative staff for the academic year 2024–2025.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—the Council of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its second open session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.

The council discussed mechanisms for continuously updating the college’s website based on the directives of the University Presidency. It also reviewed proposals concerning the Erasmus Program and the opportunities it provides for academic cooperation with European universities. On the service side, the participants examined the issue of maintaining the college’s infrastructure related to student services after securing the necessary allocated funds. The council further discussed the distribution of supervision duties for postgraduate (Master’s) students to ensure the quality of the academic process. Likewise, attention was given to evaluating the performance of the teaching and administrative staff for the academic year 2024–2025, in line with the applicable ministerial regulations.

Meanwhile, a number of division and unit heads were hosted to discuss the agenda items and to contribute to shaping the decisions adopted.

The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, with the attendance of the Scientific and Administrative Vice-Deans, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Sibhan Al-Jubouri and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen. Also in attendance were the Heads of the Departments of International Relations and Public Policy, Professor Dr. Hazim Hamid Mousa and Professor Dr. Waleed Salem Mohammed, the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Nineveh Branch, Professor Dr. Adnan Khalaf Al-Badrani, as well as the Council’s Rapporteur, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muaid Al-Dabbagh.
