Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Attends University’s Hosting of the “Readers Challenge 2” Initiative in Cooperation with Ninawa Education Directorate

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals—Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received a delegation on Monday, 29 September 2025, which included representatives from the Ninawa Directorate of School Activities, the Mosul Heritage Foundation, and the Iraqi Islamic Bank. The meeting was also attended by some members of the University Council, including the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Taie.
The meeting witnessed discussions on mechanisms for joint cooperation to adopt and implement the “Readers Challenge 2” initiative, which is the first of its kind in Iraq. The initiative aims to encourage women to read and acquire knowledge, contributing to the preparation of a conscious generation capable of self-development and serving their community and country.
The discussions also addressed the procedures and measures necessary to ensure the success of the initiative and achieve its goals in promoting a culture of reading and embedding the values of knowledge as a fundamental civilizational choice for human and national development.
