Active Participation of the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, in the Iraqi Research Leadership Forum

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals — Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals — the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs organized the Iraqi Research Leadership Forum, titled “Iraq in a Changing Regional and International Environment”, on Friday, 10 October 2025.

The forum witnessed the presence of a distinguished group of academic and research figures representing leading regional and international think tanks.

From the College of Political Science, the event was attended by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, as well as the faculty member from the Department of International Relations, Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Ahmed Elias, who was assigned to chair the session titled “Security and Diplomacy: Iraqi Foreign Policy in a Changing Region.”

The forum discussed ways to advance scientific research in Iraq and strengthen partnerships among leaderships and knowledge institutions, particularly within the framework of national efforts to enhance integration between state institutions, the academic sector, and research centers, to confront regional and international challenges amid the region’s rapid transformations.

Also attending the forum, representing the College’s Media and Government Communication Division, was Mr. Laith Amer Al-Jawadi.
