The Second Edition of a Faculty Member’s Book at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, on Western Political Systems
In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—the second edition of the book “Political Systems in Europe and the Americas” has been published by Assistant Professor Dr. Saadi Al-Ibrahim, a faculty member in the Department of Public Policy at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, in October 2025.
The book explores the development of political systems in the West (Europe and the Americas), analyzing their constitutional and institutional structures and democratic mechanisms. It offers comparative perspectives on Western political experiences through parliamentary, presidential, and semi-presidential models, while also examining the influence of political culture and social history on the formation and contemporary evolution of these systems.
The publication serves as a supplementary textbook taught to fourth-year students in the course “Political Systems in Europe and the Americas.” The new, revised, and expanded edition comprises 394 pages.
