In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal Eight: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal Ten: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—the Central Library of the University of Mosul organized its workshop titled “Human Trafficking: Sources and Impact” on Sunday, 19 October 2025.
The workshop included a single lecture delivered by Lecturer Saja Fattah Zaidan from the Department of Public Policy, College of Political Science.
Human trafficking involves the coercive exploitation of individuals for various purposes such as forced labor, sexual exploitation, forced begging, child recruitment in armed conflicts, and organ trafficking. It also includes the use of deception, coercion, or the exploitation of victims’ vulnerability.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the University President and supervised by the Secretary-General of the University of Mosul Libraries, with the participation of the library staff and the university community at large.
