The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds an Awareness Workshop on Human Trafficking

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, the University’s Psychological Counseling Division at the College of Political Science organized an awareness workshop entitled “The Phenomenon of Human Trafficking” on 22 October 2025.

The workshop addressed two main topics: the trafficking of the human mind and the phenomenon of human trafficking, focusing on their psychological, social, and legal impacts, as well as community-based prevention and protection methods.

The workshop aimed to promote mental health among the targeted groups.

It consisted of two lectures delivered by Assistant Professor Saadi Ibrahim Hussein, from the Public Policy Department, and Lecturer Dr. Shaimaa Nazem Hammoudi, head of the division.

The workshop was held under the supervision of the Dean of the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, as part of the division’s activities, and targeted all students.
