The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul participates in the “My School” initiative to support education and care for orphans, implemented by the University Presidency

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals — Goal 1: No Poverty, and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities — the Volunteer Work Division of the Department of Student Activities at the University of Mosul carried out the “My School” initiative, in cooperation with the Volunteer Work Division of the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh, on Monday, 14 October 2025.

The initiative was attended by the University’s Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Rafel Hassan Hamed, representatives of the university colleges from the Student Activities Divisions, and a number of students. From the College of Political Science, Assistant Lecturer Abd al-Khaliq Mohammed Khudair, Head of the Sports Unit, and third-year student Ashraf Abdullah Thanoon, took part in the event.

The activity included distributing school bags and stationery to orphaned and needy students at the beginning of the new academic year, reflecting the University’s commitment to supporting education and extending care to the most vulnerable groups. It also reinforced the values of giving and social responsibility that the University upholds in serving the community.

Al-Farrah Model School, which hosted the event, stands as a remarkable success story in Nineveh. Established through voluntary efforts and donations from the people of the province, it has become a shining example of social solidarity and community willpower that uplift education and plant hope in the hearts of the new generations.
