Continuation of Workshops for Graduate Students at the University of Mosul in the College of Political Science on the Fundamentals of Scientific Research and Guidelines for Writing Theses and Dissertations

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held a workshop entitled “Fundamentals of Scientific Research and Guidelines for Writing Theses and Dissertations” on Tuesday, 28 October 2025. The workshop was presented by the Head of the Department of International Relations, Professor Dr. Hazem Hamid Mousa.
The workshop covered several key topics, including originality, innovation, academic integrity, problem formulation, research questions (main and sub-questions), theories, hypotheses, evidence, proofs, and validation, among others. It also included interactive discussions that contributed to enriching the scientific research material and enhancing students’ practical understanding. The workshop concluded with a discussion of its outcomes and the research skills and knowledge acquired by the participants.
This workshop is part of the university’s training program for graduate students, which aims to develop research capabilities and enable students to produce robust theses and dissertations in accordance with international academic standards, as part of a continuous series of workshops totaling thirty training hours.
