The Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Holds a Scientific Symposium on International Relations in a Turbulent World

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 4: Quality Education, the Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, held its scientific symposium titled “International Relations in a Turbulent World” on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.

The symposium addressed topics in international relations from the perspective of international law, particularly in times of crisis. It also touched upon the nature of threats posed by the technological revolution and digital colonialism, especially regarding the impact of national interests on policy-making in the current century. Challenges of artificial intelligence were also discussed, alongside a multi-dimensional theoretical comparison.

The scientific session was chaired by Dr. Firas Muhammad Ahmad Al-Yas, with Assistant Lecturer Ziyad Abdulrahman Ali serving as rapporteur. Lectures were presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie (Dean of the College), Professor Dr. Hazem Hamad Mousa (Head of the Department), Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Muhammad Tayyib Dhahir (Director of the Center for Regional Studies), and faculty members Professor Dr. Salem Matar Abdullah, Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Muhammad Dhannoun, and Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Hashim Dhannoun.

The symposium was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit.
