The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds a Workshop on Mechanisms to Reduce Forced Labor and Human Trafficking

In realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions; the Human Rights Unit at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, held a workshop entitled: “Forced Labor and Human Trafficking: Mechanisms to Reduce and Combat These Phenomena”, on Wednesday, 5 November 2025.

The workshop discussed mechanisms to reduce forced labor and human trafficking, and the civil liability for the harm caused thereof. It also examined the causes and humanitarian consequences of these phenomena, followed by a review of national and international strategies to combat these negative practices.

The lectures were delivered by: Lecturer Hadeel Nawaf Ahmed, Assistant Lecturer Ansam Saleem Mahdi, Assistant Lecturer Hudhaifa Fathallah Ali, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Adel Mar’i, and Assistant Lecturer Omnia Ibrahim Khalil.

The workshop was held under the supervision of the Dean of the College, and in cooperation with both academic departments, in addition to the Human Rights Division of the University Presidency.
