A faculty member at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayyad Younis, participated with a research paper on the U.S. President’s policy in the Middle East at a scientific conference held in Turkey, and the College extends its congratulations

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals; several Iraqi, Arab, and international universities organized a joint scientific conference on U.S. policies and strategic transformations in the Middle East under the Trump Administration, for the period of 6–8 November 2025. The conference hosted researchers and specialists from various Iraqi, Arab, and foreign universities, among them the faculty member of the International Relations Department at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayyad Younis, who delivered his research (online), titled: “Donald Trump and the Middle East: From the Policy of Peace through Strength to Redrawing Zones of Influence.”

The research aimed to trace the shifts in U.S. power instruments and their modes of deployment, examining the transition from the discourse of “peace through strength” to the reorganization of alliance networks and regional spheres of influence. The study focused on explaining the strategic drivers behind these transformations and assessing their impact on traditional power balances, regional stability, and the future of the Middle Eastern regional order.

The College Administration congratulated the researcher for his dedicated scientific contribution and wished him—and all faculty members—continued excellence, scholarly distinction, and academic advancement, God willing.
