A Workshop for Postgraduate Students at the University of Mosul, College of Political Science, on the Concept of Empiricism and Its Applications

In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure—the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held a workshop titled “The Concept of Empiricism and Its Applications in Scientific Research.”
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Yazan Khaluq Mohammed Sajid, a faculty member in the Public Policy Department, on Monday, 17 November 2025.
Empiricism is a methodological approach based on the idea that experience and sensory perception are the sole sources of knowledge. It forms the foundation of modern scientific thinking because it makes knowledge verifiable and testable, rather than relying on abstract intellectual assumptions or metaphysical reasoning.
The workshop is part of a specialized training program for the university’s postgraduate students, aimed at enhancing their research capabilities and enabling them to prepare solid academic theses and dissertations that meet international academic standards. This workshop comes within a continuous series totaling thirty training hours.
