A faculty member of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Lecturer Basma Muhammad Nadhir, delivered a lecture on drugs and their dangerous effects on society as part of a workshop organized by the College of Environmental Sciences

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, the College of Environmental Sciences held a workshop on strategies for combating drugs by enhancing life skills for prevention, on Tuesday, 25 November 2025. The workshop consisted of a single lecture, delivered by Lecturer Basma Muhammad Nadhir from the Department of International Relations, College of Political Science.

The lecture discussed the essential life skills for drug prevention, focusing on how these skills work and their role in protection and resilience, followed by comprehensive governmental preventive strategies and policies in this area, with reference to indicators for measuring the effectiveness of precautionary programs under study.

The College Dean praised the outstanding efforts of the teaching staff in promoting the university’s educational and awareness-raising role, serving both individuals and society as a whole.
