Continuation of the Campaign to Combat Violence Against Women at the College of Political Science – University of Mosul through Holding a Workshop on Women and the Iraqi Penal Code

In line with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 5: Gender Equality and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, the Women’s Affairs Committee of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit and the Women’s Affairs Unit (at the University Presidency), organized a workshop entitled “Women and the Iraqi Penal Code.” The workshop was delivered by Instructor Sajida Farhan Hussein, a lecturer in the Public Policy branch, on Monday, 1 December 2025.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the reality of women’s legal rights in Iraqi legislation, introduce the most important legal provisions related to protecting women from various forms of violence, and promote legal awareness, contributing to the reinforcement of values of justice and equality and to building a safe and supportive university environment for women’s rights.
The workshop was held under the supervision of the Dean of the College and falls ضمن within the framework of the Sixteen Days of Activism Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
