College of Political Science/ University of Mosul Continues the “Seeds of Mercy” Initiative Toward a Green University

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals — Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 15: Life on Land — and as part of its ongoing efforts to support the transition toward a green university environment, and in implementation of the directives of the University of Mosul Presidency, the Studies and Planning Division of the College of Political Science, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency and the Administrative Affairs Division, organized a volunteer campaign entitled “Seeds of Mercy” on Wednesday, 3 December 2025.
The campaign included planting a number of trees and plants in the gardens of the University Student Center, contributing to expanding green spaces and improving the university’s environmental environment. The activity was supervised by the Agricultural Division of the Diwan Affairs Department, in coordination with the Media and Government Communications Department at the University Presidency.
This activity and similar initiatives fall during the College’s continued support for environmental initiatives within the University and the promotion of a culture of volunteer work and shared responsibility for preserving the beauty and cleanliness of the campus environment.
The campaign was conducted under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jassim Al-Ta’i, and attended by the Administrative Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin, along with a number of faculty members and administrative staff.
