Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Attends the Opening of an International Conference on Developing Accounting and Financial Work in the Era of Artificial Intelligence, Organized by the College of Administration and Economics

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal Four: Quality Education; Goal Eight: Decent Work and Economic Growth; Goal Nine: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; and Goal Seventeen: Partnerships for the Goals—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul); under the patronage and in the presence of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the activities of the First International and Second National Scientific Conference entitled “Prospects for Developing Accounting and Financial Work in the Environment of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” were launched. The conference is organized by the College of Administration and Economics over two days, on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
The conference witnessed the attendance of a distinguished group of academic and administrative leaders, including presidents of several universities, the Deputy Governor of Nineveh for Administrative Affairs, the Director of Internal Control and Audit in Nineveh, as well as a number of members of the University Council. Among them was the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Ta’i, in addition to professors and researchers from inside and outside Iraq, and officials from a number of departments and directorates in Nineveh Governorate.
The conference program included the presentation of 49 scientific papers with the participation of 130 researchers from Arab and foreign universities alongside Iraqi universities. Through specialized scientific sessions, the papers discussed the latest developments and challenges in the fields of accounting and finance, and the role of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in enhancing transparency and institutional efficiency and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In his speech, the President of the University of Mosul emphasized the importance of keeping pace with global developments, particularly in the applications of artificial intelligence in financial and accounting work, in a way that contributes to providing an academic environment supportive of scientific research and enhances the university’s standing at the local and international levels.
