The Women’s Affairs Committee of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul concluded its training course titled “The Importance of Political Work in Iraq in General,” which was held from 3 to 5 February 2025.

This course is part of the College’s third national plan for Women, Peace, and Security for 2025. On the final day, Wednesday, 5 February 2025, two lectures were presented addressing the topics of obstacles to political reform and ways to address them, and the reasons for women’s reluctance to engage in political work. The lectures were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Dr. Kawthar Hassan Ghazi and Assistant Lecturer Sajada Farhan Hussein.

The aim of the course was to raise awareness of the challenges women face in the political field and the ways to empower women to increase their effective participation in decision-making. The program will resume in early March and will continue until the end of this year.

The activity is sponsored by the University President, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, supervised by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammad Tayeb Zaher, and in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit.
