The Women’s Affairs Committee of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds a Scientific Workshop on Concepts of Justice, Human Rights, and Combating Extremism

The Women’s Affairs Committee of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its scientific workshop titled: “Concepts of Justice, Human Rights, Promoting the Values of Peace and Tolerance, and Combating Extremism”, on Wednesday, 26 February 2025.

The workshop aimed to shed light on the concepts of justice and human rights and their impact on enhancing social stability. It also sought to promote a culture of peace and tolerance as fundamental tools in combating extremism. Additionally, it discussed the role of academic institutions in fostering religious, national, and societal awareness to confront the dangers of extremism through dialogue and education. The workshop also emphasized the importance of cooperation between various entities and institutions to reinforce noble human values and promote peaceful coexistence.

The workshop was chaired by Assistant Lecturer Oumnia Ibrahim Khalil from the Department of International Relations and consisted of a single lecture delivered by Dr. Ahmed Fares Idris, a lecturer at the College of Law.

The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, and was attended by a group of faculty members and staff of both genders.
