The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds a Guidance Workshop on Intellectual Extremism
The Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, held a guidance workshop on intellectual extremism and ways to combat it on Sunday, 2 March 2025.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the phenomena of intellectual and electronic extremism, their causes, challenges, and methods of addressing them to prevent the spread of extremist ideas, especially among young people. It emphasized the importance of collective efforts and cooperation between the government, educational and academic institutions, and the role of families. Additionally, it highlighted the need to monitor social media platforms and content while ensuring their positive use without infringing on fundamental freedoms.
The workshop was presented by Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir Ahmed and Assistant Lecturer Sarah Jassim Mohammed.
The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College as part of the activities of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, targeting students.
