The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Resumes Its Series of Awareness Lectures for Dormitory Students

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the College of Political Science has resumed its series of awareness lectures dedicated to students of the university dormitories. This took place on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.
The activities of the day included the lecture titled: “The Role of the Social Researcher in Creating Appropriate and Comfortable Conditions During Midterm and Final Examinations to Address Exam Anxiety and the Fears Experienced by Students Due to the Difficulty of Courses and Curricula.”
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Aseel Ghanem Abd, from the Public Policy Department.
The lecture aimed to enhance students’ awareness of mechanisms for coping with exam anxiety and to develop psychological adaptation skills during examination periods. This was achieved by highlighting the role of the social researcher in providing a supportive and well-prepared environment that helps students achieve better academic performance and reduce psychological pressures associated with the difficulty of academic courses.
The activity is held under the supervision of the Dean of the College and consists of six lectures presented alternately by a group of the college’s faculty members, according to a previously announced schedule.
