As part of a series of scientific, research and academic contributions for our college’s members and teachers, Assistant Professor Dr. Ziad Abdel-Wahab Abdullah, one of the teachers of the Human Rights Law Branch in our college, participated in the conference held by the People’s Relief Organization (PAO) on the phenomenon of electronic blackmail. The participation was within the dialogue session that included representatives of the University of Mosul and state departments and institutions. In addition to representatives of civil society organizations and its various segments, the session focused on multiple aspects of the phenomenon of electronic blackmail from a legal and security standpoint, judicial procedures, the role of the House of Representatives in the field of legislation, and the role of clerics, tribal sheikhs and youth in raising public awareness and educating young people, teenagers and girls, and showing the seriousness of this crime and concluding the conclusion. The participants of the session signed a charter of honor to reject the negative phenomena that appear in society and that constitute a threat to societal peace. The above participation expressed the societal role of our college’s members and teachers in communicating and being open with state departments and institutions and working to raise community awareness of the dangers of negative phenomena that threaten society’s security and stability and the impact of this on Development and prosperity, of which stability is one of its basic pillars.
