Dialogue seminar on UN Security Council Resolution 1325

Dr. Ahmed Faris Idris, a lecturer at the College of Law at the University of Mosul, participated in the dialogue seminar on UN Security Council Resolution 1325. Within the framework of strengthening the academic role in supporting women and peace issues, Dr. Ahmed Faris Idris, a lecturer at the Human Rights Law Department at the College of Law at the University of Mosul, participated as a lecturer in the dialogue seminar entitled: (UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security: Implementation and Challenges). This was part of the (Voice of Women in Nineveh) program, which was held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the University of Mosul in cooperation with the Al-Masalla Organization for Human Resources Development and the High Commission for Human Rights/Nineveh Office. During the session, Dr. Ahmed Faris presented a research paper on the implementation of Resolution 1325 in supporting women during and after armed conflict – Nineveh as a model. He also highlighted the role of academic institutions in supporting local implementation plans, emphasizing the importance of integrating a gender justice perspective into security and peace policies, and putting forward a number of recommendations aimed at implementing the resolution within Nineveh Governorate.
