Master’s Thesis Discussion

**Master’s Thesis Discussion**

The College of Law discussed the master’s thesis titled **”Procedural Rationalization in Civil Litigation / A Comparative Study”** by student Ahkam Youssef Ahmed, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, under the supervision of Professor Faris Ali Omar.

The thesis addressed the topic of procedural rationalization as a fundamental approach to addressing the phenomenon of slow litigation procedures, which has become one of the most prominent challenges facing the contemporary justice system. The purpose of procedural laws is to ensure and protect rights; however, this goal is not effectively achieved unless access to the right is coupled with speed and efficiency. The study indicated that the prolongation of litigation may prompt some litigants to prefer settling for part of their right rather than resorting to the judiciary, which necessitates adopting mechanisms that reduce procedural waste.

The thesis aimed to accelerate the resolution of disputes by simplifying procedures and reducing formal complexity that leads to prolonged litigation, thereby achieving the principle of expeditious justice without prejudicing litigation guarantees, as well as reducing the waste of time and resources resulting from the repetition or misuse of procedures.

**The discussion committee consisted of:**
– Professor Taymaa Mahmoud Fawzi / Chairman
– Professor Ahmed Samir Mohammed / Member
– Assistant Professor Saja Omar Shabaan / Member
– Professor Faris Ali Omar / Supervisor

At the conclusion of the discussion, the thesis was approved after incorporating the scientific observations raised by the committee. We wish the researcher continued success and prosperity in her academic career.
