Scientific workshop

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal al-Din al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, the Central Committee for Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Law at the University of Mosul held on Sunday, the fifth of November 2023, its scientific workshop entitled Requirements for Psychological Counseling and Guidance. Educational, as our college hosted Dr. Nada Fattah Zidan Al-Abaji, Chair of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Committee at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Mosul, who gave a lecture in the above workshop in which she touched on the historical and intellectual foundations of educational guidance and the extent of its importance at the educational and university levels, with the necessity of it being a followed method. In educational institutions, the requirements for educational guidance, represented by the skill of being patient and listening, and not adopting a method of deterrence, regardless of the size of the problem, are explained, along with the importance of dialogue, avoiding guardianship, and communicating with the student’s family, and emphasizing the importance of neutrality, confidentiality, and the possibility of resorting to specialists to reach the right opinion, taking into account the legal structure of educational guidance units. And its committees, and the emphasis on having a specialized guide for each stage or classroom. The workshop also touched on the types of guidance that may be individual related to an individual phenomenon or collective related to a collective phenomenon, direct or indirect, and may be represented by the psychodrama method through video presentation that addresses a specific phenomenon or problem as well. The workshop demonstrated the importance of having special specifications for the Educational Guidance Unit and its committees, represented by a private place and special records that deal with each case individually, as well as records that include student talents and the methods used to develop them, along with an explanation of the methods that have been followed to take into account those with special needs as they are one of the elements of society. Then Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat delivered a speech. Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, gave a speech in which he appreciated the efforts of the guest during the lecture, in which she explained the scientific methods used in treating cases that require treatment. Then he explained the standards followed by our college in developing plans and programs aimed at achieving student stability, along with his appreciation for the efforts of the Chairman and members of the Central Committee for Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance in… Our college and its subcommittees, then the attendees, including researchers, academics, teachers, and those interested in university, student, and educational affairs, asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the workshop, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. In conclusion, the college dean presented a certificate of appreciation to the visiting guest. This workshop comes within a series of scientific, cultural, and student activities. For our college during the current academic year 2023-2024.
