College of Veterinary Medicine Hosts the 2nd symposium entitled “Healthy Animals Mean Healthy People”

Under the patronage of President of University of Mosul Prof. Dr.Qusay Kamaladdin Al-Ahmady and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Dhafer Mohammad Aziz. The Department of Veterinary Public Health and Department of Internal and Preventive Veterinary Medicine in College of Veterinary Medicine held its scientific symposium entitled “Healthy Animals Mean Healthy People” on Tuesday 7thJanuary, 2020.The symposium was attended by the President of University of Mosul, Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs of University of Mosul, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and a number of professors and doctors from the University of Mosul.The symposium started with speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Dhafer Muhammad Aziz. Then, the President of University of Mosul gives a number of shields, which included the college shield for Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs of University of Mosul Prof. Dr. Muneer Salim Al-Badrany in recognition of his efforts during his occupation at the deanship of the college and shield for the companies that supported the symposium.This One-day Symposium included four sessions, the first session of the symposium was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dhyaa Mohamad Jwher, the second lecture was delivered by Assist. Prof. Qaes Talb Alsarhan, the third lecture was delivered by Assist. Prof. Maan Tahir Jarjees and the last lecture was delivered by Dr. Omer Khazaal Sallou followed by the guest speakersAt the close of the symposium there were questions and discussion were held on these lectures and determine that the human health relies on healthy animals and animal health is important to human health regarding zoonotic diseases, which transmit directly from animals to humans.
