Master’s Thesis Defense

A Master’s thesis defense was held at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Internal and Preventive Medicine, entitled:

“Serodiagnosis of Brucella canis Infection in Dogs”

The thesis was presented by Ms. Hiba Muwaffaq Fathi Al-Obaidi under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Salam Abd Ismail, on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The examination committee consisted of:

The study aimed to investigate the serological diagnosis of Brucella canis infection in local and police dogs in the city of Mosul. The objectives were to determine the prevalence of the infection, compare the diagnostic performance of the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) with the Indirect ELISA (IgG and IgM), and evaluate the association of sex and age with the occurrence of the disease.

Following the candidate’s confident and scientifically sound defense, and after thorough discussion by the examination committee, the thesis was approved.
