Launch of the Training Course “Diagnostic Methods in Microbiology” at the College of Veterinary Medicine

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, the activities of the training course entitled “Diagnostic Methods in Microbiology” commenced on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The course is organized by the Department of Microbiology in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul and will run from October 11 to October 19, 2026.

The course aims to enhance the scientific and practical skills of participants in the field of microbiological diagnosis and familiarize them with modern methods used for the collection, transportation, preparation, and laboratory examination of pathological samples. It also seeks to strengthen participants’ capabilities in the isolation and identification of microorganisms using various laboratory techniques, thereby contributing to improved laboratory diagnostic efficiency and enhancing the quality of veterinary services.

This training course aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through strengthening diagnostic capacities for infectious diseases, Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting professional and scientific development, and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through supporting laboratory innovation and advanced diagnostic methodologies.
