Workshop “Field experiences of poultry management and diseases control”
Between 6th-7th of March 2024, College of Veterinary Medicine organised a workshop, titled: “Field experiences of poultry management and diseases control”. This workshop brings 5th year students and veterinarians to refresh their knowledge and experience in the field of skills of veterinarians. It aims to establish good understanding of poultry management and diseases. This workshop included theoretical information.
The course included:
First Day:
- Foundations and concepts in field diagnosis of poultry diseases.
- Basics of pharmaceutical treatment in poultry flocks
- Disinfectants and disinfection in poultry farms.
- Drinking water quality and its effect on poultry health
- The management of broiler start “10 days to win”.
Second Day:
- Field & Laboratory Diagnosis of some important diseases challenging the poultry industry in the Middle East: (Newcastle Disease, Infectious Bronchitis and Inclusion Body Hepatitis – Hydropericardium syndrome (IBH-HHS)).
- Steps for a successful poultry disease vaccination program.
These lectures were delivered by international poultry expert Dr Ghassan Mohammed Al Hilali from Syria.
