As part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing efforts to foster an environment of creativity and entrepreneurship, the Department of Science and Technology Parks at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Career Development, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College, organized an introductory workshop entitled:
“Introductory Workshop on the Department of Science and Technology Parks at the Presidency of the University of Mosul”, held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The workshop commenced with an opening address delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Qusay, Director of the Department, who outlined the department’s vision and objectives. He elaborated on its key functions and services, particularly in supporting entrepreneurial projects, facilitating technology transfer, and promoting innovation within the university.
The session also featured an open discussion with attendees, during which several questions and inquiries were addressed regarding mechanisms of cooperation and opportunities to benefit from the department’s programs. The exchange created an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and positive engagement.
In conclusion, the Director emphasized that the Department of Science and Technology Parks aims to serve as an effective link between the university and the industrial and technological sectors, with the goal of transforming research ideas into practical applications that contribute to community service and sustainable development.
This workshop embodies the University of Mosul’s commitment to cultivating an academic environment that encourages creativity and entrepreneurship, while reinforcing a culture of excellence and innovation as a cornerstone of its strategic vision.
The event also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reaffirming the College’s dedication to supporting scientific research and high-quality education.
