Protecting University Youth from the Scourge of Our Time
The College of Veterinary Medicine Holds a Workshop on Drugs and Their Serious Consequences
The College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Unit, the Department of Media and Government Communication at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, and the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Nineveh Police Directorate, organized a workshop titled “Drugs and Their Impact on Society” on Monday, 24 November 2025. This initiative comes as part of the University of Mosul’s leading role in serving the community and raising awareness about negative social phenomena.
The workshop aimed to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse on both the individual and society, the methods of combating and confronting it, and the mechanisms of prevention and treatment. It also sought to enhance community awareness regarding the risks associated with drug use and trafficking.
This workshop is aligned with the University of Mosul’s strategic efforts to harness its scientific and research capacities to confront the threat of drugs and protect society from their severe consequences.
