Scientific Journal of the College
The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal issued by the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Mosul, Mosul, Iraq. The journal publishes original and distinguished scientific research articles, short communications, research notes, case reports, and reviews in various fields of veterinary sciences in both Arabic and English.
Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other journal. All submitted articles are peer-reviewed by experts in the field before acceptance. Once published, articles become the property of the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences.
The journal is published biannually and is indexed in Veterinary Bulletin and Index Veterinarius, both issued by CABI Publishing in the United Kingdom. It is also indexed in:

The College of Veterinary Medicine publishes a scientific journal that focuses on various fields of veterinary specialties. The journal was established in 1988, with its first issue released in the same year. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal and became a national journal dedicated to veterinary medicine in the year 2000. It is a biannual journal, publishing two issues per year, and features high-quality, rigorous research papers, case reports, and reviews covering both theoretical and applied aspects of veterinary sciences. This academic rigor contributed to the journal receiving its international standard serial number (ISSN): 1607-3894.
The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences (IJVS) has published 25 volumes since its founding (1988–2011), totaling 46 issues, with 314 articles in Arabic and 553 in English.

The international indexing organization CABI Publishing in the United Kingdom has begun full coverage of the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences. They provide digital (PDF) versions of the articles and include the abstracts in Index Veterinaries and Veterinary Bulletin. -
A New Step in IJVS Publishing:
The College of Veterinary Medicine has taken a new step toward expanding the reach of its journal by publishing it on the internet via the website:

From 2008 onward, all issues of the journal have been available online in both Arabic and English in downloadable PDF format. This online publishing model has enhanced the journal’s global visibility and complements the printed version sent to subscribers.

Inclusion in the ICMJE List:
The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences is listed among the medical scientific journals that follow the uniform publication standards set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

During the Science Day celebration held on 4/6/2011 by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Mosul, received an award of excellence from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in recognition of its distinguished performance.
