The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed a master’s thesis entitled “The Reciprocal Relationship between Political Stability and Economic Stability: A Case Study of Arab Countries.”

Part of the thesis was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, and his assistants for academic and administrative affairs.

The current study, presented by Abdul Hakim Tariq Mutab, a student in the Department of Economics, aimed to:
Determine academic outcomes that measure the impact of political stability on economic stability and determine the direction of the reciprocal relationship for 15 cases in Arab countries, as well as to identify the reasons for this disparity in the relationship.
The study reached the following conclusions, the most important of which are: There is a long-term positive effect of political stability on economic stability. A causality test also reveals a bidirectional relationship between political stability and economic stability.

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Saad Mahmoud Al-Kawaz, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khader Abtan and Assistant Professor Dr. Joan Saeed Hussein from the University of Salahaddin/Erbil, under the supervision and membership of Professor Dr. Mufid Thanoon Younis.
