Graduation requirements in Iraqi universities—governed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR)—are regulated under the Bologna Process (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System – ECTS). For a standard 4-year Bachelor of Business Administration) or similar undergraduate programs, students must satisfy credit, academic performance, procedural, and administrative conditions.
- Cumulative Credit & Academic Requirements
- Total Credit Accumulation (240 ECTS):
- Students must successfully clear 240 ECTS credits over 8 academic semesters (30 ECTS per semester / 60 ECTS per year).
- Every mandatory and core department module must be completed with a passing grade.
- Minimum Pass Threshold (CGPA):
- A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 50% (Grade E / Acceptable) across all 4 years is required to graduate.
- Students cannot graduate with any active failed (“F”) modules on their transcript; all failed modules must be retaken and passed during Second Round exams or summer/retake registration periods.
- • Graduation Project & Practical Requirements
- Graduation Research Project:
- Senior students (Semester 8 / Level 4) must complete an empirical or applied research under faculty supervision.

- Mode of study
In Iraqi public and private universities under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), the Mode of Study in Business Administration is defined by standard study shifts, delivery methods, and student workload models.
The primary framework governing student enrollment and class structures in Business Administration is outlined below:
- Morning Study):
- Target: Primarily high school graduates admitted through the national central admission portal (Central Admission).
- Schedule: Full-time attendance operating.
- Funding: Fully state-subsidized at public universities (free tuition, excluding private-channel options).
- Evening Study:
- Target: Employed individuals, public sector employees on official leave, or students who do not meet the high school GPA threshold for morning admission.
- Schedule: Part-time/evening hours (typically 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM).
- Funding: Requires annual tuition fees set by the ministry and university council.
- Program coordinator
In Iraqi undergraduate programs governed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), the Programme Coordinator oversees the design, execution, and quality control of a specific four-year degree program (such as a Bachelor of Business Administration). With the nationwide implementation of the Bologna Process and the Iraqi National Qualifications Framework (IQNQF) across public and private universities, the role has shifted from traditional administrative support to a core pillar of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) management.
the Key Responsibilities at the Undergraduate Level are:
- CLO–PLO Alignment: Verifies that every subject’s Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) align directly with the overall Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs).
- Syllabus & Module Catalogue Verification: Reviews and standardizes module descriptors (course files) prepared by instructors before the start of each semester.
- Credit Distribution: Ensures each semester adheres strictly to 30 ECTS credits (60 ECTS per academic year / 240 ECTS total for a 4-year degree).
- Student Workload (SWL) Auditing: Monitors the split between direct contact hours (lectures, labs) and independent student study hours (assignments, research, project preparation) so students are not over or under-burdened.
- Continuous Assessment Oversight: Ensures continuous assessment (allocated 50% of the grade) is transparent, properly structured (quizzes, midterms, lab reports), and published on time.
- Accreditation Reporting: Gathers academic metrics, grade distribution reports, and course exit surveys for internal quality assurance committees and national accreditation reviews.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for credit transfers, course petitions, academic warnings, and workload feedback.
