The College of Administration and Economics at University of Mosul concludes its training course on combating violent extremism and promoting a culture of moderation

Sponsored by the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division and the Continuing Education Unit, concluded today, Thursday, 12 February 2026, the activities of the training course entitled: “Combating Violent Extremism.”
The course lasted for three days (10–11–12 February 2026) and was held in the Continuing Education Hall at the college.
The course witnessed the participation of a number of college staff members. Its sessions addressed the concepts of violent extremism, its causes and intellectual and behavioral motivations, mechanisms for prevention, and ways to enhance community awareness within the university environment. These efforts aim to reinforce a culture of dialogue and moderation, reject violence, and strengthen national belonging and social responsibility.

This course comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to support awareness and educational programs, strengthen the university’s role in community service, spread a culture of peace, and build a safe academic environment based on understanding and intellectual openness, in line with the mission of the University of Mosul to promote humanitarian and national values.
