The President of the University of Mosul Participates in the 20th Session of the College of Administration and Economics Council, Emphasizing Support for Scientific Research Pathways and Modern Academic Transformation

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held its 20th regular session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the college’s deanship headquarters. The meeting was attended by the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Kossay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmady, and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim Jassim. It was chaired by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, and attended by the esteemed members of the college council.

​The participation of the University President comes as part of his regular program aimed at attending college council meetings and directly reviewing academic and administrative performance. This specific session was dedicated to the College of Administration and Economics Council, underscoring the college’s vital role in supporting the scientific and research journey of the University of Mosul.

​The session witnessed the discussion of several strategic academic and scientific pillars, most notably:

​Enhancing the scientific output of faculty members by supporting publication in reputable international repositories.

​Emphasizing the follow-up of faculty research groups and motivating them to publish scientific research in international journals with advanced rankings.

​Updating and developing curriculum contents to align with artificial intelligence applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, including the introduction of a specialized course in this field and integrating its concepts into other curricula.

​Adopting certain courses in the English language within academic programs to enhance the efficiency of educational outcomes and open up to international standards.

​Emphasizing the preparation of university theses and dissertations according to international scientific standards, and in line with publication requirements in reputable indexing databases, particularly Scopus.

​Discussing the importance of developing curricula and linking them to scientific developments and labor market requirements, while committing to covering course contents within the specified timeframes.

​The session concluded with the reading and detailed discussion of the department council minutes, within the framework of consolidating the principles of transparency and integrating academic and administrative roles, thereby contributing to institutional development and reinforcing the college’s position within a reputable university environment.

​These orientations align with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), through improving education quality, enhancing scientific research, and updating curricula to keep pace with global digital and knowledge transformations.
