The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Thursday, August 13, 2026 a doctoral dissertation entitled “The Sequential Impact of Critical Factors and Compliance with Information Security Policies in Reducing Cybersecurity Risks”, submitted by the student Najat Ameen Othman Mohammad, in Discussion Hall No. (2).

​The study aimed to test the sequential impact relationships of critical factors on employee compliance with information security policies, reaching a demonstration of the effect of this compliance on reducing cybersecurity risks, thereby contributing to enhancing the level of security protection within organizations and mitigating cyber threats.

​The results of the study showed that critical factors directly affect the level of employee compliance with information security policies, which is reflected in reducing cybersecurity risks. The results also revealed that compliance with information security policies represents a pivotal link in the chain of impact, as it works to transform the effect of critical factors into tangible results in mitigating cyber risks.
