The Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed  on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, a doctoral dissertation entitled “Academic Entrepreneurship and Its Impact on Academic Excellence: The Mediating Role of Success Factors of World-Class Universities – An Analytical Study of the Views of Strategic Leaders at the University of Mosul”, submitted by the student Marthad Emad Saeed Al-Sumaidaie, in Discussion Hall No. (1).

​The study aimed to analyze the impact of academic entrepreneurship on achieving academic excellence, and to uncover the mediating role of success factors of world-class universities in this relationship, through an analytical study of the views of strategic leaders at the University of Mosul, contributing to providing a scientific vision for developing university performance and enhancing the competitive capability of academic institutions.

​The results of the study showed that the success factors of world-class universities play a partial mediating role in the relationship between academic entrepreneurship and academic excellence, as academic entrepreneurship possesses a direct impact contributing to improving academic excellence indicators in the short term, along with an indirect impact appearing in the long term through enhancing institutional enablers represented by high concentration of talent, provision of abundant resources, and establishing appropriate governance, supporting the sustainability of academic excellence and enhancing the chances of universities to reach world-class university levels. The study also emphasized the importance of adopting academic entrepreneurship as an essential part of the university’s institutional strategy, rather than merely a temporary administrative initiative.
