The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul enhances its healthy campus environment through an awareness campaign supporting the Sustainable Development Goals

As part of the commitment of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul to academic accreditation requirements and the promotion of sustainable university practices, and based on the instructions of the Ministerial Committee responsible for granting accreditation to the college and its scientific departments, alongside the directives of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, the college conducted a wide-ranging awareness campaign to establish a culture of health, hygiene, and environmental responsibility among students.
On Monday, October 5, 2026, the lens of the Media and Government Communication Division toured the college halls and various buildings, documenting students interacting with a series of educational posters carrying clear messages that encourage quitting smoking, avoiding littering cigarette butts, and maintaining the cleanliness of the college facilities and campus environment.
This initiative aligns with the third Sustainable Development Goal: Good Health and Well-being, by raising awareness about the dangers of smoking, supporting a safer and healthier learning environment, and instilling positive behaviors that protect the health of both the individual and the university community.
During an interview with the Media and Government Communication Division, the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqader, explained that the college designed and distributed a large number of awareness posters in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, and with the participation of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division. This reflects the integrated efforts across the college’s departments to spread awareness and foster responsible campus behavior.
This step underscores the commitment of the College of Administration and Economics toward turning sustainability into a daily practice within the campus rather than a mere slogan, by building a clean and healthy learning environment and raising student awareness of their responsibility to preserve it, thereby supporting the college’s journey toward quality, accreditation, and institutional excellence.
