Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, supervised by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammad Jamil, and in coordination with the Scientific Affairs Unit, the college hosted a scientific workshop titled “Journal Selection, Verification, Relevance to Specialization, and Scholarly Rigor” on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Hall No. 1, prepared and presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Hazem Younis.

​The workshop highlighted the scientific criteria for selecting field-appropriate journals, methods to verify their indexing, metrics, and reputation, as well as strategies to avoid questionable or predatory journals. These measures aim to enhance the quality of academic publishing and increase acceptance rates in reputable international journals.

​The event was attended by the Dean of the College, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, and the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqader, alongside several faculty members and postgraduate students.
