The Department of Banking and Financial Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the research of the Higher Diploma in Banking Sciences tagged “The impact of credit concentration on capital adequacy: an analytical study in a sample of Arab countries”.
Part of the discussion was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The current study presented by the student “Hikmat Hamid Muhammad Amin” in the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences aims to: Measuring the impact of credit concentration on capital adequacy in the Arab countries, using indicators (HHI Bank asset concentration, return on total assets, and capital adequacy in a sample of Arab countries, represented by (Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco for the period from (2010-2021).
The study reached several results, the most important of which are: the existence of a negative significant impact of credit concentration on capital adequacy in the Arab countries of the study sample, as well as a positive effect of return on total assets in capital adequacy.
The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Mayada Salah El-Din Taj El-Din, and the membership of the teacher, Dr. Ashti Abdul Sattar Abdul Ghani, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Ahmed Al-Nuaimi.
