Higher Diploma Research in the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences discusses “The Impact of Some Economic Variables on the Growth of Bank Deposits: An Analytical Study in the Iraqi Banking Sector “Wednesday, October 11, 2023…

The Department of Banking and Financial Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the research of the higher diploma tagged “The impact of some economic variables on the growth of bank deposits: an analytical study in the Iraqi banking sector”.

The current study… Which was submitted by the student “Doaa Jassim Mohammed” in the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences to: Testing some economic variables (inflation, deposit interest rate, and stock market index) as independent variables and their impact on the growth of bank deposits as the dependent variable, through the use of multiple linear regression model. The study sample was represented by the Iraqi banking sector, which includes all Iraqi banks through the study and analysis of bank deposits during the period (2005-2023) and with monthly observations. Where the study used four statistical models to test the relationship of effect between variables.

The study reached the most important conclusions: The interest rate variable has a clear impact on all statistical models in the test, which indicates the importance of this variable in terms of statistical standard. As for the variables inflation and the stock market index, the results of the test were mixed.

The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Ahmed Al-Nuaimi, and the membership of each of the teacher Dr. Ashti Abdul Sattar Abdul Ghani and the membership and supervision of the teacher Dr. Harith Ghazi Al-Dabbagh.
