The Department of Banking and Financial Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The impact of political risk on the performance of the real estate sector: a study in a sample of Arab countries”.
Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The current study submitted by the student “Sarah Sabah Malu Hussein” in the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences aims to: Give a vision of the mechanism of impact transfer between the variables of political risks and the performance of the real estate sector, by presenting the most prominent real estate concepts and dimensions related to this concept and detailing the types of real estate and real estate activities in terms of real estate investments and real estate financing, then highlighting the most prominent factors affecting this sector.
The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which were: that the impact of political risks came positively with the rate of return on investment and the rate of return on equity and this is due to the relationship between return and profit, and the study suggests to existing companies (which follow a policy of risk to increase the rate of investment in countries with high political risks in order to reach high profitability rates.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Bashar Ahmed Al-Iraqi, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Ali Kurdi from the University of Tikrit and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Fawzi Muhammad, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Namir Amir Al-Sayegh.
