The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “Designing an accounting information system for Iraqi public universities by applying to the Northern Technical University”
Part of it was attended by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mounir Salem Taha, and the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The current study presented by the student “Omar Ahmed Saleh Abdullah” in the Department of Accounting aimed to design an electronic accounting information system based on the outputs of the government accounting system and the unified accounting system accredited in public universities that meets the needs of Iraqi public universities, and the design includes improvements in several aspects to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting information systems in public universities.
The study reached a set of important results that enhance the importance of applying the proposed accounting information system, including improving the accuracy of financial reports, as the accounting information system will enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial reports, which enhances confidence in accounting information, as well as saving time and effort through automation and simplification of processes, as the accounting information system will save time and effort for workers in the accounting field.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Luqman Muhammad Ayoub, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Safwan Qusai Abdul Halim from the University of Baghdad, and Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Ahmed Hussein, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Malallah Abdullah.
