The Sustainable Development Committee met under the chairmanship of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and the Dean’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, in the presence of the members of the Standing Committee for Sustainable Development in the scientific departments on Sunday, 17/3/2024, and the meeting dealt with discussing the importance of sustainable development and working to achieve its seventeen goals towards developed cities and societies, and to see the most important achievements of the members of the committee and all scientific departments, and new, diverse and unconventional possibilities and ideas, and work to apply them. On the ground directly, and one of the most important proposals and ideas put forward that serve the goals of sustainable development is the eradication of poverty, achieving food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, working on gender equality, the need to use clean energy at reasonable prices, the need to hold workshops and scientific awareness lectures on rationalizing water use, maintaining water scarcity, university life, the services provided by the university to the community, and peaceful coexistence.
